One of my earliest musical influences was discovering the radio program Hearts of space. I would lay in bed with headphones and an old AM/FM radio turning the dial until static turned into lush tapestries of sound. I had no idea how theses sounds were created. There were rarely any recognizable instruments. If it wasn't for the occasional monotone voice over by the host I wouldn't have been sure it was even terrestrial music. I have spent much of my life chasing these sounds...
For the nerds, most of these songs are using a generative process like that of Eno's. I have chosen some sounds and music only to leave the arrangement up to chance...
